We are seeking a reliable and professional Courier Driver (Independent Contractor) to join our growing logistics team. This role involves transporting goods efficiently and safely to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a professional attitude when interacting with clients.
This position is part of a new startup operation launching in Collingwood, and delivery volume will vary seasonally. During the winter months, drivers can expect approximately 1–3 deliveries per day, while in the spring season, volume is expected to increase to approximately 3–5 deliveries per day. Compensation is structured on a pay-per-delivery basis.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport packages and goods
- Load and unload cargo, often requiring heavy lifting
- Ensure accurate delivery of items by verifying recipient information and obtaining signatures or photos when required
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times
Experience & Skills
- Strong customer service skills to handle interactions professionally during deliveries
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills
- Commercial driving experience is an asset but not required
Requirements
- Clean driving abstract for the past 3 years
- 25 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s G license
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Comfortable working in a contractor (self-employed) role with pay per completed delivery
- Own a SUV or Larger vehicle (No sedans)
Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
