Brief Job Description for the Production Worker/General Labour position.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Worker will be responsible for all the tasks related to packaging and sealing meat products. The incumbents must be able to maintain line speed with strict adherence to all applicable policies, practices, and legislation including GMP and Food Safe.
Position Responsibilities:
- Packaging/Sealing of meat product.
- Assemble and disassemble grinder equipment.
- Operate scales and bulk packaging equipment.
- Prepare chub sausage formulations.
- Formulate and coat various meat products.
- Process multiple product lines.
- Keep up to production line speed while stacking boxes of product.
- Prepare tray orders for product being prepared daily.
- Perform tote prep and tote wash duties.
- Assist with various tasks as assigned by lead hands and production supervisors.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Handle chicken, pork, lamb and beef products.
- Work with spices and allergens safely.
- Be willing to adhere to all hygienic food safe requirements in the plant.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
- Physically fit and able to lift, push, and/or pull, weight of up to 50lbs.
- Comfort working with various meat products.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to focus on tasks being performed.
- Experience in food manufacturing within a fast-paced environment is an asset.
- Ensure safe and hygienic practices are applied to all tasks performed.
- Reliable means to commute to work location.
- Early morning shift starts 5:20 am, 5:50 am, 7:50am
