ROK Landscapes Construction Skilled Labourer Position Description
Job Summary
ROK Landscapes is seeking construction labourers to become members of our team, working directly under the guidance of our highly skilled and experienced foreman. This role involves the efficient completion of construction landscape installation jobs throughout the Muskoka Lakes region. The individual is expected to uphold and promote job site safety, deliver outstanding customer service, and demonstrate both pride and quality in their workmanship.
Job Responsibilities
· Work closely with the Foreman and Crew Leader on landscape installations.
· Represent the company professionally.
· Keep the job site and equipment trailer clean, safe, and organized.
· Maintain all tools, equipment, and vehicles.
· Complete physical installation tasks reliably.
· Cooperate as a team member and follow instructions.
· Meet project deadlines without compromising quality or customer service.
· Record and submit timesheets to foreman on time.
· Participate in required training.
· Take on other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Crew Leader.
Requirements
· Experience with installing different types of hardscapes is a bonus.
· Experience operating: skidsteers, excavators, quick cut saws and able to level aggregates and lay hardscaping materials such as flagstone and stair treads.
· Be motivated, able to work on your own, and pay attention to details.
· Always look and act professional.
· Good time management is important; you must be willing to work long hours, weekends, and sometimes holidays.
· Be on time, reliable, and have a positive attitude.
· Be able to work well with people from different backgrounds and skill levels.
Qualifications
· Good communication skills ability to follow direction and work with limited supervision.
· Interest in landscaping, specifically hardscaping, working with natural stone and being a part of building incredible and unique landscape projects in Muskoka
· Able to read/interpret drawings and specifications for task execution.
· Clean driver’s abstract, valid G Licence; skilled in handling trucks/trailers.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
· Regular physical activity required, including walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
· Operating machinery and handheld power tools is part of the role.
· Frequent standing and moving items up to 50 kilograms (over 100 pounds with assistance).
· Work is conducted outdoors year-round, in all weather conditions.
· Exposure to noise, dust, moving machinery and construction tools/equipment.
Hours of Work and Compensation
· Work is scheduled from March through December, Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., typically exceeding 40-50 hours per week.
· Hourly wage: $25–$35+; overtime after 44 hours.
