Position Overview
TreeTrack is seeking a motivated individual to support environmental monitoring and restoration projects. The successful candidate will primarily assist with reviewing, identifying, and annotating tree seedlings and vegetation in drone imagery. The work will support the development of environmental datasets used to monitor reforestation and ecosystem restoration projects.
This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of ecology, forestry, environmental monitoring, and technology.
Responsibilities
- Review drone imagery and identify tree seedlings and vegetation features
- Annotate and label seedlings, trees, and other vegetation in aerial imagery
- Perform quality checks on annotated datasets
- Assist with organizing and maintaining image datasets
- Support environmental monitoring and restoration projects
- Collaborate with the TreeTrack team on ongoing restoration initiatives
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
- Comfortable working with computers and digital imagery
- Interest in environmental science, forestry, ecology, biology, geography, GIS, remote sensing, or related fields
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Assets
- Knowledge of tree species, vegetation identification, or forest ecosystems
- Experience with drone imagery, aerial photographs, or environmental fieldwork
- Interest in reforestation, ecosystem restoration, or conservation
- Current enrollment in, or recent graduation from, a post-secondary program related to environmental science, forestry, ecology, biology, geography, GIS, or a related field

Compensation
