Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing administrative tasks. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and familiarity with dental and medical office operations. Experience with electronic medical records and dental software is highly valued. The Dental Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming environment
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and handle patient communications
- Verify patient information and update electronic medical records accurately using systems such as Dentrix and Epic
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments efficiently to optimize the office’s workflow
- Collect payments, process insurance claims, and handle billing procedures with accuracy
- Maintain organized front desk operations, including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence
- Assist with patient check-in/check-out processes while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations
- Support the dental team by coordinating patient flow and providing administrative support as needed
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy and professional at all times
Requirements
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is preferred
- Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records management
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Office experience demonstrating organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of front desk procedures, billing, and insurance processing is desirable
- Professional appearance and friendly demeanor to foster positive patient relationships
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members
