Job Description:
Under the direction of the Foreperson and Site Superintendent, the Gradesperson is to lay and join concrete, and plastic, pipe for drains, sewers, and small utilities. This position will ensure that the ground is prepared and the trenches dug out for the pipes. The work requires manual labor as well as assisting other positions involved in the projects with hands-on work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Align pipe in appropriate sections

Grade trenches or culverts
-
Shoot Grade
-
Maintain tools, chop saw, and equipment in good condition and according to safety standards

Consistently arrive on time to the job site with the appropriate gear
-
Create lists of necessary tools, materials, and supplies that are needed to perform the work
-
Participate in Professional Development courses and other forms of training in order to strengthen knowledge and skills
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

2+ years of experience
-
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors
-
Ability to read and understand civil blueprints
-
Shoot elevations for manholes, pipe, roadways and building lots

Physically able to perform assigned tasks in various environments and conditions including heavy lifting more than 50 lbs

An understanding of the safety procedures

Driver’s License is required

Ability to communicate proficiently in English

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Salary Range:
$36-50 per hour based on experience
