Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Early Childhood Educator to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster developmental growth through innovative teaching methods. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, supporting children's social and emotional development, and collaborating with parents and team members to ensure a positive educational experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning.
- Monitor and assess children's developmental progress, providing tailored support as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, and educational needs.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to organize classroom activities, events, and curriculum enhancements.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities to meet individual requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain cleanliness of the classroom environment.
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
Skills
- Proficiency in English; bilingual abilities in French or other languages are a plus.
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to work well with children with disabilities or special needs; experience in special education is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing classroom activities and documentation.
- Time management skills to balance lesson planning, classroom supervision, and administrative tasks.
- Leadership qualities to guide children’s learning experiences confidently.
- Writing skills for maintaining detailed records and communicating with parents.
