Shadowbrook Kennels is a family-owned boarding kennel for dogs and small animals. We are looking for an energetic, compassionate, and dependable individual to join our team as an Animal Care Attendant.
Job Summary:
The Animal Care Attendant is responsible for the care and enrichment of the animals in our facility. This includes but is not limited to:
- Feeding the animals
- Cleaning indoor and outdoor living areas / runs
- Dog walking and playtime in our secure enrichment area
- Assisting with housekeeping duties as needed
- Bathing dogs
- Other duties as assigned.
Typical shifts are approximately 8am to 12 noon, with some afternoon/evening shifts possible. THIS POSITION DOES INVOLVE WEEKEND SHIFTS.
Experience:
- Animal experience required- even if it is only that you have or have had pets.
- Animal care/training not necessarily required as we can train you.
- Flexible schedule to include mornings ( weekdays, weekends and holidays) and possibly the odd evening shift.
- Must be comfortable working with animals of all sizes and breeds. (Dogs, Rabbits, etc...)
- Must be physically able to walk and handle dogs of all sizes, including large dogs that pull on their leashes.
- Must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to get to work reliably, regardless of the weather. Local applicants preferred.
