MacIsaac Gow LLP is a dynamic and growing injury firm with offices in Oakville. We represent our clients in all aspects of motor vehicle accident, personal injury and property claims in courts and tribunals throughout Ontario. We are looking to expand our team with a legal assistant who is motivated to learn, hard-working, and both a independent worker and a team player.
· Opening files, including but not limited to opening files in file management system and within firm, including creation of physical files, drafting initial file correspondence.
· Requesting medical, liability and all other file-related documentation, both pre- and post-discovery (undertakings)
· Tracking fulfillment of records provision, scheduling, and other measures regarding file advancement
· Saving and accurately distributing incoming faxes and mail, sending out mail
· Scheduling discoveries, mediations, motions, client meetings, trials, pretrials, and all other events
· Preparing service of court documents, arranging for service of documents with external process servers and document pickup
· Managing and maintaining lawyers’ schedules and agendas including appointments, examinations for discoveries, mediations, calls, etc.
· Overall daily file maintenance/preparing file for any upcoming events
· Preparation of correspondence to doctors, employers, clients and other counsel
· Preparation and compilation of motions records, and other documents
· As required, other document preparation, preparing, editing and formatting correspondence
· Organizing and briefing file materials as required
· Taking oral and written instructions
· Photocopying documents
· Compassionate client interaction when required
· Preparation of cheques for payments for services, records provision, and other payments as required
· Maintaining and utilizing an orderly filing and retrieval process to ensure ease of reference to electronic and physical records
· Covering front desk duties, including answering phones, greeting clients; interacting with couriers
Assisting with the firm’s client development including but not limited to, speaking with medical offices and potential referral sources, participating in social media as needed, attending marketing and firm development events, etc.

Pay: From $38,000.00 per year
