Jonview is looking for enthusiastic German and Dutch-speaking Tour Directors to accompany international visitors on guided coach tours across Canada. As the face of Jonview, you will deliver exceptional customer service while sharing your knowledge of Canada's history, culture, geography, and attractions.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced tour leaders, travel professionals, educators, hospitality specialists, or individuals passionate about tourism who enjoy working with people from around the world.
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-day escorted coach tours throughout Canada.
- Welcome and assist international guests, ensuring an exceptional travel experience from arrival to departure.
- Deliver engaging commentary in German or Dutch, sharing Canada's history, culture, geography, wildlife, and points of interest.
- Coordinate daily tour operations, including hotels, attractions, restaurants, transportation providers, and local suppliers.
- Manage group logistics, including hotel check-ins/check-outs, departures, meal arrangements, optional excursions, and itinerary execution.
- Ensure tours operate safely, efficiently, and according to schedule while complying with company policies and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with the Tour Operations Supervisor before, during, and after each assigned tour to ensure seamless tour execution.
- Maintain regular communication with the Tour Operations team regarding itinerary updates, operational issues, emergencies, delays, and guest concerns.
- Promptly report incidents, safety concerns, service disruptions, and operational issues to the Tour Operations Supervisor.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and implement appropriate solutions to maintain a positive customer experience.
- Collaborate with the Tour Operations team and suppliers to adapt itineraries and resolve operational challenges when required.
- Maintain accurate tour records and submit all required documentation, expense reports, incident reports, and post-tour reports within established timelines.
- Represent Jonview professionally at all times and deliver memorable travel experiences that exceed customer expectations.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes Required to be Successful
- Fluency in German or Dutch is required.
- Strong English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Additional language skills are considered an asset.
- Previous experience as a Tour Director, Tour Guide, Travel Escort, or in tourism, hospitality, customer service, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent presentation, storytelling, and public speaking skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to engage diverse groups of travellers.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities while on tour.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with the Tour Operations team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with Tour Operations, coach drivers, hotels, attractions, restaurants, and other suppliers.
- Knowledge of Canadian destinations, geography, culture, and history is considered a strong asset.
- Flexibility to travel extensively and work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Valid authorization to work in Canada.
- A valid driver's licence is considered an asset.

Pay: $237,000.00-$320,000.00 per year
