Job Summary
The English teacher is responsible for teaching English at the secondary level in a bilingual and stimulating environment. They contribute to the development of students’ linguistic, cultural, and analytical skills while fostering engagement and academic success. Teaching is based on the curricula accredited by the French Ministry of National Education.
Main ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Pedagogy
- Plan and deliver English lessons adapted to students’ levels
- Assess language skills (speaking, writing, listening, and reading comprehension)
- Use varied and innovative teaching approaches
- Encourage active participation and critical thinking
Student Support
- Support students in their academic progress
- Provide individualized assistance when necessary
- Contribute to developing students’ autonomy and confidence
Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team
- Communicate regularly with families
- Participate in pedagogical meetings and educational projects
School Life
- Participate in school activities and interdisciplinary projects
- Contribute to a positive and respectful school environment
- Monitor absences and lateness and report information to the homeroom teacher and student services
Desired Profile
Education
- University degree in English education, languages, or a related field
Experience
- Experience teaching at the secondary level
- Experience in a bilingual environment (an asset)
