Position Overview
We are seeking a Childcare Worker / After School Care (Teaching Assistant)
Key Responsibilities
- Cover breaks for Early Years staff as needed to ensure continuous supervision and support
- Assist in the delivery and supervision of the Afterschool Program
- Assist with cleaning and tidying duties, including regular toy cleaning and sanitization
· Ensure the safety and overall well-being of all children in care
- Implement age-appropriate developmental activities and circle times that are inclusive and stimulating for all children
- Carry out routines of the Early Years education program
- Have a strong understanding of child growth and development
- Be able to be actively and physically involved in the program
- Be ready to act in case of an emergency
- Follow the licensing regulations set out by the Province of Alberta
- Be nurturing and caring with all children in care
- Have effective communication skills, both with children and adults
Qualifications
- Level 1 Early Childhood Educator at minimum – Province of Alberta
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Vulnerable Sector Clearance/Clear Criminal Record Check (within the last 6 months)
- Experience working with children and/or in a preschool/daycare setting (minimum one year an asset)
- Strong sense of awareness in working with diverse and inclusive settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Adaptability, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working in a diverse learning community
