Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Labour / Construction Helper to join our dynamic construction team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various aspects of construction projects, supporting skilled tradespeople and ensuring project efficiency. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, physically capable, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools
- Support skilled trades such as carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers in their tasks
- Operate hand tools and power tools under supervision to perform basic construction activities
- Aid in concrete forming, finishing, and related masonry tasks
- Assist with framing, drywall installation, flooring, tile laying, and cabinetry installation
- Support with demolition, restoration work, and site cleanup to maintain a safe and organized workspace
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand project requirements
- Use caulking, painting tools, and other finishing materials as needed for project completion
- Operate heavy equipment with proper training or under supervision when required
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a secure work environment for all team members
Skills
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading and schematics
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment operation
- Knowledge of concrete forming, finishing, masonry, carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, and roofing is a plus
- Ability to read construction plans and assist with estimating tasks is advantageous
- Familiarity with construction painting, tile laying, flooring installation, cabinet installation, welding, or restoration work is desirable
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills on the job
- Attention to safety procedures and ability to recognize potential hazards on-site
