The Freebird Market and 10tation Event Catering are growing and looking for dependable, hardworking Production Cooks to join our team.
Based out of our large chef-driven production kitchen in Etobicoke, we prepare fresh meals, salads, sandwiches, proteins, sauces, baked goods, and catering menus for cafés, corporate clients, retail customers, and events across the GTA.
Please note: This is a full-time position that requires evening and weekend availability.
We are hiring for multiple positions. Some team members will focus primarily on kitchen production, while others may have opportunities to support catered events and off-site functions. Regardless of assignment, all team members play an important role in delivering high-quality food and exceptional service.
Position Overview
The Production Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking large-batch food items while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, organization, and food safety.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys structured production work, works efficiently under pressure, and takes pride in producing excellent food every day.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook large-batch food items according to recipes and production schedules
- Produce proteins, soups, sauces, salads, sides, sandwiches, and catering menu items
- Portion, package, label, and store products according to company standards
- Follow recipes, specifications, and production schedules accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment
- Keep stations stocked and production-ready throughout the shift
- Support kitchen operations across departments as needed
- Assist with catering preparation and event execution when required
- Participate in daily and weekly cleaning tasks
- Work collaboratively with kitchen leadership and team members
Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of experience in a production kitchen, catering kitchen, restaurant, hotel, commissary, or similar environment
- Strong understanding of food preparation and batch cooking
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Food Handler Certification is an asset
- Valid driver's licence is an asset but not required
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented
Availability Requirements
- Full-time availability required
- Evening and weekend availability is required
- Flexibility to support business needs across both production and catering operations is a strong asset
