Marketing and Communications Coordinator
The Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Safety Association (NLCSA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health and safety excellence throughout Newfoundland and Labrador's construction industry. Through education, training, resources, and industry engagement, we support safer workplaces and help foster a strong safety culture across the province.
We are seeking a creative, organized, and results-driven Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join our team to advance our profile and support the promotion of our programs, services, and events.
Position Summary
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will play a key role in planning, developing, and executing marketing and communications initiatives that support the association's strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing digital marketing activities, creating engaging content, coordinating campaigns and events, and ensuring consistent brand messaging across all communication channels.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
· Develop and implement marketing plans and promotional campaigns for training programs, events, and organizational initiatives;
· Create compelling content for newsletters, social media, website updates, promotional materials, and other communications;
· Coordinate and maintain the organization's content calendar;
· Ensure brand consistency across all marketing and communication materials;
· Assist with media relations, advertising, and public awareness campaigns;
Digital Marketing
· Manage and grow the NLCSA's social media presence across multiple platforms;
· Monitor and report on digital marketing performance metrics and campaign effectiveness;
· Support website maintenance, content updates, and search engine optimization (SEO) initiatives;
· Develop email marketing campaigns and analyze engagement metrics.
Event & Stakeholder Engagement
· Support the planning, promotion, and execution of conferences, workshops, industry events, and safety campaigns;
· Coordinate marketing materials, signage, and promotional items for events;
· Engage with industry stakeholders, members, partners, and sponsors to support marketing objectives;
Graphic Design & Content Development
· Design marketing collateral including announcements, e-bulletins, presentations, advertisements, social media graphics, and event materials;
· Capture and coordinate photography and video content when required, including the creation and editing of short-form videos for social media and digital marketing campaigns;
· Work with external vendors, designers, and media partners as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
· Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field;
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a marketing, communications, or digital marketing role;
· Experience managing social media platforms and digital marketing campaigns;
· Experience with event coordination is considered an asset.
Skills & Competencies
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
· Strong content creation abilities;
· Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications;
· Experience with graphic design tools;
· Familiarity with website content management systems and email marketing platforms;
· Strong organizational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail;
· Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines;.
· Knowledge of the construction industry, occupational health and safety, or not-for-profit organizations would be considered an asset.
