We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electromechanical Technician to perform the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of industrial mechanical and electrical equipment. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience working with pumps, electric motors, gearboxes, bearings, couplings, and other rotating equipment, as well as the ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical problems.
The Electromechanical Technician will work independently and as part of a maintenance team to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while minimizing equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial pumps, electric motors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment.
- Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, rebuild, and reassemble mechanical and electromechanical equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational problems using appropriate testing equipment and technical documentation.
- Perform installation, alignment, leveling, and adjustment of pumps, motors, gearboxes, and related equipment.
- Replace and service bearings, seals, shafts, couplings, belts, pulleys, and other mechanical components.
- Test electric motors and electrical components using multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Troubleshoot motor starters, contactors, overloads, sensors, switches, and basic control circuits.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Identify worn, damaged, or defective components and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
- Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and commissioning.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment conditions.
- Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable workplace safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements as needed.
- Work collaboratively with production, maintenance, and other departments to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Technical diploma, certificate, or equivalent experience in Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience repairing electric motors, pumps & gearboxes is required.
- Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining pumps, electric motors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
- Experience with bearings, seals, couplings, shafts, and mechanical power transmission components.
- Ability to use common mechanical and electrical testing tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment and components as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to work in industrial environments with exposure to noise, dust, oils, machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
The Electromechanical Technician will primarily work in our electric motor repair shop. Overtime, shift work, emergency call-ins, or weekend work will be required depending on operational needs.
