This role is based fully on the co-packing floor. Strategic tasks such as regulatory audits and Health Canada liaison remain the responsibility of leadership this role focuses on executing daily quality operations and maintaining compliance within established systems. This is a floor-based role for the majority of the shift, not a desk job with occasional floor visits — the inspector should expect to be out on the co-packing floor, talking with operators and scanning materials, most of the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify that all materials at the line are correct and scan them into the job accurately in Odoo before production begins.
- Perform daily in-process and final inspections on the co-packing floor.
- Complete all required quality documentation (e.g., batch records, in-process QC checklists, deviation forms).

- Perform reconciliation activities in Odoo, working closely with planners and line leads to ensure traceability and production accuracy.
- Identify and escalate non-conformances or quality issues to supervisors or leadership.
- Maintain quality records in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Own quality presence on the co-packing floor throughout the shift, working closely with line leads rather than checking in periodically.
- Ensure lot traceability, labeling, and packaging specifications are met at every production stage.
- Conduct basic training or coaching to reinforce quality processes with operators when necessary.
- Assist in preparing for internal audits or Health Canada inspections by maintaining audit-ready documentation.
- Conduct First Article Approval for new jobs or setups to verify specs before mass production.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in quality assurance/inspection, inventory control, or material handling within a manufacturing, packaging, or co-packing environment.
- Experience using ERP systems (Odoo a plus, but any ERP experience is transferable) for reconciliation, lot tracking, or production recording.
- Knowledge of GMP and quality documentation requirements.
- Comfortable with basic reconciliation math (e.g., recognizing that 500 scanned in minus 300 used should leave 200) and working confidently in Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work across multiple co-packing lines and prioritize daily inspections.
- Comfortable on the production floor, working closely with operators and team leads.
- Proactive, dependable, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong new grads with the right numeracy, computer comfort, and adaptability are welcome to apply, even without direct quality inspection experience.
