Neighbourhood Dance Works
Neighbourhood Dance Works (NDW) is seeking three motivated, detail-oriented, and community-minded young people for 9-week summer positions supporting festival production, communications, and site-based performance programming. These roles provide hands-on experience in professional arts administration, event production, and public engagement within a contemporary dance festival context.
All positions are supported through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Applicants must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Job Description
Supports the Festival Coordinator in delivering a smooth, welcoming, and well-organized artist experience through administration, hospitality logistics, and information management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support festival logistics and artist scheduling
- Assist with artist hospitality (travel, accommodations, arrivals)
- Prepare and organize artist contracts and documentation
- Collect and manage artist bios, headshots, and promotional materials
- Maintain and update internal artist information systems
- Assist with production prep and coordination systems
- Provide general administrative support to Festival Coordinator
Skills, Qualifications & Assets
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable with spreadsheets, documents, and digital filing systems
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Professional and respectful approach to working with artists and colleagues
Assets
- Interest in performing arts, festivals, or arts administration
- Experience in hospitality, coordination, or administrative roles
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace or Airtable
- Previous volunteer or community arts experience
