About the Role
Position: Quality Assurance Specialist
Location: West-End Halifax HQ
Experience: 1–3 years of experience or a background in Quality Assurance, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field required. Experience in food, beverage, or nutraceutical manufacturing environments is considered an asset.
What You’ll Do
As a Quality Assurance Specialist at Infusd, you’ll play a critical role in building and maintaining the quality systems that support our R&D, manufacturing, and commercial operations.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, co-manufacturers, suppliers, and customers to ensure our products consistently meet specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about building strong quality systems in a fast-growing environment.
You will:
- Act as the primary quality liaison between Infusd, co-manufacturers, suppliers, and customers.
- Manage quality documentation including COAs, specifications, SDS, allergen documentation, and related records.
- Coordinate required testing for production runs and ensure release specifications are clearly defined and met.
- Manage raw material qualification, including COA review, supplier approvals, and ongoing verification.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records for raw materials and finished products.
- Manage stability programs, including scheduling, inventory tracking, testing timelines, and reporting.
- Develop and implement internal quality SOPs and documentation systems.
- Lead and support external audits, including co-manufacturer facility audits and follow-up activities.
- Oversee vendor qualification and support supplier quality programs.
- Complete customer, partner, and co-manufacturer qualification forms and audit requests.
- Support allergen documentation and other customer-facing quality and regulatory requirements.
- Work cross-functionally with R&D, Procurement, Operations, and leadership to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Help continuously improve Infusd’s quality systems as the company scales.
This role offers the opportunity to build and scale quality systems from the ground up within a rapidly growing technology and manufacturing company.
You’ll work at the intersection of R&D, manufacturing, regulatory, and commercial operations, helping ensure product integrity while supporting Infusd’s expansion into global markets.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or a related field.
- Background in Quality Assurance, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working independently and cross-functionally.
- Experience in food, beverage, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing is an asset.
- Experience with audits, supplier qualification, COAs, stability programs, or quality management systems is an asset.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong commitment to quality.
Compensation
$70,000–$80,000 per year, based on experience.
