We currently have a need for an experienced, professional, and outgoing Machine Operator to efficiently and effectively service our customers. Metalogics’ team members are instrumental in helping to achieve growth and expansion of our company. The primary goal is to efficiently and safely load metals for shipment to our customers, ensure excellent product quality and maintain and improve the yard facility. The Machine Operator role consists of:
- Complete pre-operational equipment check and documentation
- Participate in meetings with operations team
- Safely and effectively operate material handler (crane)
- Load material into open top trailers
- Maintain a safe and orderly working environment
- Operate computerized inventory control systems
- Identify and sort various metals
- Perform general housekeeping as required.
- Working toward understanding and classifying metals with integrity
Work Conditions and Necessary Skills:
- Decision making
- Attention to detail will be required
- Outdoor work, exposed to weather elements
- Working at heights may be required
- Standing, sitting, climbing, bending and crouching will be required
- Professional communication skills (verbal/written)
Experience:
- Previous experience operating Excavator, Front End Loader, Skid steer is preferred but not required;
- Previous scrap metal experience is preferred but not required;
- Experience operating Material Handlers (cranes) with different types of attachments (grapple, magnet, grab-mag)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
Experience:
- Crane Operator: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Heavy Equipment Certification (preferred)
