We are seeking a reliable and experienced Welder / Shop Labourer to perform welding and fabrication tasks while supporting general shop operations in a metal fabrication environment. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components, assisting with material handling, operating fabrication equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized shop.
The ideal candidate will have previous welding and shop experience, a strong commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding and other welding processes as required on a variety of metal components
- Read and interpret basic drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Cut, fit, grind, and prepare materials for welding and fabrication
- Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, saws, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively
- Assist with the fabrication, assembly, and repair of custom metal products and structural components
- Load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop using appropriate equipment and safe lifting practices
- Perform general shop labour duties, including material handling, cleanup, and organizing work areas
- Inspect completed welds for quality and ensure work meets specifications
- Maintain equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to complete projects on schedule
Qualifications
- Previous welding and metal fabrication experience required
- Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial shop environment preferred
- Ability to read measuring tools and interpret basic fabrication drawings
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing, and repetitive tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Assets
- Valid welding tickets or certifications considered an asset
- Experience with MIG welding (TIG and Stick welding experience is also considered an asset)
- Experience operating fabrication equipment, including grinders, band saws, drill presses, ironworkers, and cutting equipment
- Forklift or overhead crane experience considered an asset
- Experience working with structural steel, custom metal fabrication, or architectural metals is an asset

Monday to Friday
6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Compensation
$19.00 – $26.00 per hour, based on experience.
