Role Description:
As a Policy Strategist, you will be responsible for analyzing various policy topics, such as healthcare, unemployment, and more, and developing strategies to address pertinent issues. You will utilize your quantitative and qualitative research skills to interpret numerical data accurately, organize information effectively, and provide insightful analysis. Working both independently and collaboratively, you will play a crucial role in shaping policy recommendations and informing decision-makers.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and write reports on a range of policy topics, including healthcare, unemployment, education, etc.
- Interpret and analyze quantitative data, including census data, to understand trends and patterns.
- Utilize demographic analysis techniques to assess the impact of policies on different population groups.
- Develop clear and visually appealing data visualizations to enhance understanding and convey key insights.
- Track and model changes in research subjects over time to provide dynamic and adaptive policy recommendations.
- Conduct qualitative research, including policy analysis, to complement quantitative findings and provide comprehensive insights.
- Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas, share findings, and develop cohesive strategies.
- Craft engaging summaries of key research findings for diverse audiences, including policymakers, stakeholders, and the general public.
- Stay updated on relevant policy developments, research methodologies, and best practices in the field.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or Sociology.
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative research methods, including data analysis and interpretation.
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Excel, R, SPSS, STATA) and data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with policy analysis frameworks and methodologies.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and project requirements.
