Bayview is a growing local Winnipeg construction company providing heavy construction services such as road building, sewer and water, crushing, and all municipal services to our communities.
We are looking to expand our team and are currently accepting resumes for Milling Machine Operator:
Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt milling machines safely and efficiently
- Perform roadway, curb line, and tie-in milling to specified depths and profiles
- Follow grades, slopes, and milling plans as directed by the ground person
- Coordinate operations with dump trucks, traffic control, and ground crews
- Monitor machine performance and make minor adjustments as required
- Complete daily pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Work in live traffic and active construction zones
- Comply with all Bayview safety policies and site-specific requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum two years related milling, asphalt and road construction experience is an asset
- Ability to do physical work in a variety of weather conditions
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required, long hours
- Be willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary
- Must have strong work ethic
- Communication skills with the ability to communicate in a team environment with supervisors, co-workers and general public alike, in a courteous and professional manner
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures
- Dependable, on- time
- Willingness to be a team player
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Have excellent verbal communication
- Valid driver’s license
