Reporting to the General Manager of Joffre Nitrogen Operations the Training Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership to the Canadian Nitrogen site Training teams. The successful candidate will ensure that the Canadian Nitrogen training programs align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence standards.
This position is located at either Nutrien Redwater, Alberta Nitrogen facility or our Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta Nitrogen facility, with a preference to Redwater, Alberta Nitrogen. Travel to the four Canadian Nitrogen Sites is required for this role (approximately 10-25%).

Lead the development, implementation, and sustainability of technical training programs. Working collaboratively across the Canadian Nitrogen sites to support the Nitrogen business strategy, ensuring alignment between training programs, operational requirements, and corporate learning standards

Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders to establish training priorities based on business needs, workforce capability gaps, and regulatory requirements for Canadian Nitrogen

Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the Canadian Nitrogen training team. Establish clear expectations, performance objectives, and development plans for team members while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service

Continually manage and strive to ensure existing training content is up to date so that materials and presentations of classes/computer-based training are effective and consistent with government regulations and corporate policy and guidelines. Ensure progression systems and competency verification programs remain compliant and consistent within Canadian Nitrogen

Oversee the sites management of the apprenticeship training program, employee training and memberships of the Alberta Boilers Safety Association for the site. Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop learning solutions

Promote the use of adult learning principles and effective instructional methodologies.

Oversee the training budget for Canadian Nitrogen, supporting site-level coordinators with annual budget planning for training activities

Ensure the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of new hire orientation processes across Canadian Nitrogen

Post secondary education with a preference towards formal education related to adult education and learning.

10 + years' Industrial experience, with 3+ years in a supervisory role

Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with the capability to work independently, using sound decision making processes.

Proven proficiency in written and verbal communications with a strong background in a variety of computer software programs (including Microsoft suite, Adobe).

Demonstrated capability in the design, development, planning and/or delivery of training programs and systems.

Knowledge and experience with an LMS and computer-based training (CBT) programs is an asset.
