Primary Focus
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Controller to oversee the accounting functions of this diverse portfolio of entities. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, processing improvement, team development and support strategic decision-making across the organization.
Specific Accountabilities
Financial Management:
· Manage all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, tax and treasury
· Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability
· Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders
· Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP/ASPE
· Manage relationships with external auditors
Leadership and Team Management:
· Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
· Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the finance team
Operational Efficiency
· New company set ups on Sage 50 and QuickBooks Online
· Assist with conversions from Sage 50 to QuickBooks Online
· Respond to inquiries from Director of Finance and other members of the management team
· Other duties as assigned
Reporting Relationships
- Reports to Director of Finance
Schedule
- Monday to Friday - 8:30am - 4:30pm (or an approved variation)
Location
- Edmonton, AB (On-site), with occasional travel to other local offices

Qualifications & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA certification is preferred
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience with Sage 50 and QBO is required
Education Requirements
- Accounting Designation (CPA, CPA-CA, CPA-CMA, CPA-CGA)

Pay: $110,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
