From our advanced manufacturing facility in Port Alberni, we are building precision-built homes through Canada’s first true hybrid construction system—designed to reduce cost, accelerate delivery, and improve quality.

As part of that mission, we are developing a practical, scalable smart-home platform that enhances everyday living without adding complexity.
We’re looking for someone hands-on who can help us design, configure, test, and commission a repeatable smart-home system that can scale across multiple homes.
This is not a pure software role. This is not enterprise it. This is real-world smart home design and delivery.
What you’ll do
You will work alongside our design, manufacturing, and construction teams to:
- Design a repeatable smart-home system for residential deployment
- Recommend and select devices and architecture
- Configure and test integrations
- Support physical commissioning at our Port Alberni facility
- Work with electrical and construction teams during installation
- Create practical documentation and handover materials
- Help establish standards that can scale across future projects
You might come from backgrounds such as:
- Smart home installation
- Home automation
- Residential technology integration
- Building controls
- Electrical controls
- Low voltage systems
- Av / home theatre
- Building automation
- Residential electrical design
If you’ve built integrated systems in real homes and enjoy solving practical problems—we’d love to hear from you.
We’d love to see experience with
- Zigbee, Z-wave, Matter, Thread, Wi-fi
- Home Assistant, Hubitat, or similar local-control environments
- Device commissioning and troubleshooting
- Networking fundamentals (Structured Wiring, Poe, Vlan Concepts)
- Working alongside trades and installers
- Creating documentation and repeatable standards
Bonus points
- Residential AV integration
- Fleet or multi-home deployment
- Smart lighting and controls
- Mobile app experience
- Familiarity with BC construction environments

Location
Hybrid. BC preferred. Remote candidates across Canada considered for design phases, with periodic travel to Port Alberni for commissioning and testing.
