Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, organized Bookkeeper to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing day-to-day accounting transactions, and supporting Grey Express Inc.’s financial operations in a fast-paced logistics environment. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and an understanding of accounting practices within the trucking and logistics industry.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are recorded in a timely manner.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice verification, payment processing, and collections.
- Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Record journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and submit government remittances, including HST, payroll source deductions, and other required filings.
- Assist with preparing financial reports, budgets, and supporting documentation for management.
- Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate records of company expenditures and revenues.
- Maintain organized accounting records and ensure all financial documentation is proper filed.
- Support external accountants and auditors by providing requested financial information and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate billing, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and maintain strong internal controls.
- Perform other bookkeeping and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Experience in the logistics/transportation industry is considered an asset.
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with professionalism.
Pay: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
