Job Description
JPD Contracting is looking for reliable and hardworking General Labourers to join our team in Nanaimo, BC. In this role, you'll support various construction activities by assisting skilled trades, handling materials, maintaining a clean and safe worksite, and performing general labour duties. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy physical work and want to build a career in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform general labour tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving construction materials and equipment.
- Support carpenters and other trades with daily construction activities.
- Clean and maintain work areas to ensure a safe and organized job site.
- Remove debris and dispose of waste materials properly.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and site regulations.
- Use hand tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Perform other duties as required to support project completion.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a labour-intensive or construction role is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.
- Ability to work safely in various weather conditions and on active construction sites.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
- Steel-toe boots and appropriate PPE are required.
Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive manual tasks.
- Ability to safely use basic hand tools and construction equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
