Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision and care, adhering to established Chinese recipes and presentation standards
- Serve food to customers efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment, to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Support the team during busy periods by managing multiple tasks seamlessly and staying organized
- Follow all safety protocols related to food industry standards to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant settings is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, meal assembly processes and Sichuan cuisine or other types of Chinese cuisine
- Hands-on experience with food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality standards are met
- Strong understanding of kitchen safety practices, including proper use of utensils, equipment, and sanitation measures
- Experience working in fast-paced environments where multitasking and teamwork are essential
- Familiarity with the food industry’s best practices for serving, meal preparation, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
