Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier/Prep Helper to join our team in providing exceptional service in a fast-paced food industry environment. This role involves assisting with food preparation, managing customer transactions, and ensuring a clean and safe dining experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with professionalism and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, accurately processing customer orders and payments
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and safety standards, ensuring quality and presentation
- Handle cash transactions with accuracy and provide correct change using basic math skills
- Assist in food handling, sanitation, and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, upselling menu items when appropriate to enhance guest experience
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and order accuracy
- Follow food safety protocols and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe environment for staff and guests
- Support team members with additional duties such as serving or restocking supplies as needed
Skills
- Food preparation experience, including knowledge of food handling and safety standards
- Proficiency with POS systems, especially Micros POS, for efficient transaction processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Excellent time management skills to handle high-volume periods smoothly
- Previous food service or restaurant experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Basic math skills for cash handling and calculating change accurately
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and food safety regulations in the food industry
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Upselling skills to promote menu items and enhance sales opportunities
