About the Role
We’re looking for a Certified Trailer Mechanic to perform CVIP inspections, maintenance, and repairs on commercial trailers. You must hold valid CVIP certification and have hands-on experience working with trailer systems.
Responsibilities
- Complete CVIP inspections in compliance with Alberta Transportation standards
- Diagnose and repair trailer components: brakes, suspension, axles, electrical/lighting, wheel ends
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks
- Document all inspections, repairs, and findings accurately
- Identify issues and recommend repair solutions
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Work independently and communicate clearly with the team
Requirements
- Valid Alberta CVIP Trailer Inspector Certification (required)
- 2+ years of experience as a Trailer Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician
- Strong knowledge of commercial trailer systems
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and read technical manuals
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and in a shop environment
Nice to Have
- Journeyman or Red Seal certification
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Air brake endorsement
