Teacher Assistant / Recess Supervisor
Role Overview:
A Teacher Assistant is a dedicated professional who plays a crucial role in enhancing student comprehension during instructional periods. In addition to supporting teachers in planning and presenting lessons, the Teacher Assistant extends education beyond the classroom by supervising learners during lunch or recess activities. This ensures effective knowledge reinforcement and contributes to a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to create lesson plans.
- Work closely with small groups of students to enhance the learning process.
- Provide individualized attention to students who need extra support.
Supervising Recess and Lunch:
- Monitor students during lunch and recess periods.
- Ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Encourage positive social interactions among students.
- Address any behavioral issues promptly.
Classroom Organization:
- Help maintain a tidy and organized classroom.
- Set up materials and resources for lessons.
- Assist with classroom management tasks as needed.
- Operate computers, printers, webcams, and other equipment.
- Support teachers during field trips and other situations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional education or certifications).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with both students and teachers.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning.
- Organizational skills to maintain a structured classroom environment.
- Ability to adapt to different age groups and student needs.
