Job Responsibilities:
- Track Shipments: Monitor real-time tracking systems and ensure all shipments are progressing according to schedule.
- Communication: Maintain consistent communication with drivers to confirm route information, delivery status, and troubleshoot any issues.
- Customer Support: Provide timely and accurate updates to customers regarding shipment status, delays, and estimated delivery times.
- Identify and address any disruptions in the transportation process, such as delays, road closures, or vehicle issues, and implement solutions to minimize impact.
- Data Entry & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of shipment statuses, delays, and customer communication. Generate daily, weekly, or monthly reports on tracking performance and progress.
- Handle required paperwork for each shipment, including delivery confirmations, tracking reports, and other documentation as needed.
- Manage incoming customer inquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely responses.
- Order entry and customer management.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding shipping and receiving updates.
- Maintain real-time communication with drivers, monitoring routes, traffic, and weather conditions to ensure timely deliveries.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records, including driver logs, vehicle maintenance schedules, and delivery confirmations.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints, providing timely and professional resolutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the operations team.
Job Requirements:
- 1+ year of experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation management, preferably in the trucking industry.
- Proficiency in using phone systems for effective communication.
- Proficiency in transportation management software, Microsoft Office, Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with customers, drivers, and team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly in fast-paced situations.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
