Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Cook. This role is ideal for someone passionate about the food industry, with a focus on serving customers, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting kitchen operations, preparing meals, and ensuring excellent food handling practices.
Responsibilities
- Serve customers efficiently and courteously, providing excellent customer service
- Assist in food preparation and cooking to meet quality standards and presentation expectations
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and hygiene standards
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and menu specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment
- Support meal preparation during busy periods to ensure timely service
- Follow all safety protocols related to food safety and kitchen operations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations and customer satisfaction
Experience
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and meal assembly
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling practices
- Experience in the food industry or related roles such as serving or food handling is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and cleanliness
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this role
Burger Barn caters to a company approximately 1 hour west of Thunder Bay. Successful candiate will stay and work at our outpost for 4 days/ 3 nights per week. Transportation both ways and all accommodations will be supplied and paid for. This position is cooking and cleaning 10 hours per day from Thursday to Sunday weekly with Monday to Wednesday off.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
