Job Overview
We are seeking motivated and dependable Class 1 Sand Haulers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty trucks to transport sand efficiently across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to safety standards. Your expertise in freight handling, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance will contribute directly to our commitment to on-time service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to haul sand between sites and delivery points
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure safety and compliance
- Load and unload sand using appropriate equipment, including forklifts when necessary
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates or issues encountered during transit
- Assist with basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep vehicles in optimal condition
Skills
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and other loading machinery
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations in transportation
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshooting on trucks and trailers
- Strong understanding of route planning, navigation, and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills for coordination with team members and dispatchers
- Physical ability to load/unload materials and perform vehicle inspections efficiently
