Position Overview: TheExpediter (Catering Assistant, Non-Food) plays an intermediate role between production and cutlery department to ensure efficient flow and movement of materials.
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the efficient flow & movement of materials into the production process by assuring on-time delivery of materials to support the Production and Cutlery Departments
- Take appropriate action and to effectively deliver the materials as per the VPS/MPS to ensure an on time delivery of raw materials
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues from same/different departments in regards to production schedule requirements
- Replenish/stocking of the food/equipment as required
- Maintain a sense of urgency to all requests made by the Supervisors to meet production requirements
- Maintain a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following current CLS Catering safety rules, and departmental operating procedures and maintaining a clean work area
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to read and write in English
- Able to stop, bend and repetitively lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Able to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
- Require to work in the cold environment (4C) and appropriate clothing will be provided for the cold environment
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and HACCP processes is an asset
- Food Handler Certificate is an asset
- Experience with high volume food preparation and work in a fast paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Require to stand/walk for long periods of time
Job Type: Part-time
