Avent Charter is a premier charter bus transportation company operating commercial passenger buses and vehicles across Western Canada. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on, and organized Red Seal Heavy Duty Bus Mechanic to join our service team at our commercial bus maintenance division.
Position Summary
The Red Seal Heavy Duty Commercial Bus Mechanic will conduct repair and maintenance services on our commercial bus fleet, ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest safety, reliability, and regulatory standards. This role requires a Red Seal certification and past experience in repairing heavy duty vehicles, ideally in charter buses, mini buses, and vans.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and supervise diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and fleet inspections
- Ensure fleet compliance with all provincial and federal transportation regulations
- Execute preventative maintenance services and repairs to maximize fleet uptime and reliability
- Coordinate parts procurement and inventory management
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection documentation, and compliance reports
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and clean shop environment
- Work closely with operations and dispatch teams to minimize vehicle downtime
- Respond to urgent breakdowns and operational issues when required
Qualifications
- Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (Required)
- Authorized Inspector License for CVI (Required)
- Minimum 2–5 years of heavy-duty commercial fleet maintenance experience
- Strong experience with commercial buses, coaches, diesel engines, air brake systems, and electrical diagnostics is an asset
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems and fleet compliance
- Willing to work weekend shifts preferred
- Valid Class 1, 2, or 4 driver’s license considered an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40.00-$55.00 per hour
