Pro-Pipe Service and Sales Ltd. is seeking a full-time, permanent Production Technician / Chemist to join our metal finishing team.
Experience in metal plating, coating, or surface finishing is considered a strong asset.
This is a hands-on leadership role within our metal finishing shop. The successful candidate will help oversee daily operations, operate and monitor production equipment, support various coating and plating lines, and ensure products are finished to meet customer, quality, and safety requirements.
The role involves finishing, plating, and coating metal components to provide corrosion-resistant properties. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a competent technician within the plating and coating area
- Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down production lines
- Operate and monitor plating and coating equipment
- Support daily production planning and shop priorities
- Provide input on production lead times and overtime requirements
- Assist with organizing materials and coordinating orders with management
- Help level-load work among operators and support cross-training for skill versatility
- Assist with product assembly, inspection, and quality control
- Monitor material flow, including items requiring rework, review, or disposition
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, production, and quality
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area
- Communicate production issues, equipment concerns, or quality concerns to management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical, processing, manufacturing, or production environment preferred
- Previous team lead or supervisory experience is considered an asset
- Post-secondary education in a technical field, chemistry, trades, or related area is considered an asset
- Experience with metal plating, coating, surface finishing, or chemical processing is a strong asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
