Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

Typical Responsibilities
- Serve as the intermediate electrical engineer on a project, working under a senior engineer, primarily on Canadian and US projects
- Work and communicate effectively within a team of Electrical and I&C engineers and designers, as well as interface with other engineering disciplines, project management team, clients and vendors.
- Review and develop Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) designs for the detailed engineering phases of projects.
- Review and develop deliverables including, but not limited to, schematic and wiring diagrams, single line diagrams, cable tray, lighting, equipment layouts, heat tracing, electrical lists, power quality and protection studies, and calculations to support designs.
- On small projects, review and develop I&C deliverables including, but not limited to, PLC and DCS panel drawings, instrument loop diagrams, junction box wiring diagrams, fire alarm system risers and layouts, instrument indexes, I/O lists
- Authentication (P.Eng stamping) of project discipline deliverables
- Prepare equipment procurement packages, including the development and/or review of specifications and datasheets, evaluate technical bids, meet with vendors and review vendor documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of construction contracts and scope of work.
- Attend site visits to collect data as required for projects.
- Participate in the development of scope, budgets, and schedules.
- Ensure quality by monitoring that team’s deliverables meet client and company standards.
- Provide regular reporting to management and client regarding the electrical team progress and performance with respect to scope, schedule and budget.
- Check the design work of others and provide technical feedback.
Balance and meet deadlines on multiple ongoing projects.

Expected:
- Electrical Engineering (BSc) degree
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in the province of British Columbia or have the ability to transfer Canadian P.Eng from another province.
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, primarily responsible for supporting consulting projects for mining, metallurgical or similar process industries.
- Knowledge of CSA and IEEE standards including the Canadian Electrical Code and how to apply them to designs.
- Effective communication, organization and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume and deadline-driven environment. Must have the ability to balance the workload in order to meet multiple deadlines.
- Everyday use of Navisworks, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Team player, but also able to work independently and take responsibility.

Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience in construction
- Familiarity using power system software to perform calculations (e.g. ETAP).
- Working knowledge of 2D software (AutoCAD)
- Instrumentation and controls design experience
- Registered as a PE in the US
