Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Aid to support our 11yr old daughter with classroom instruction at her school Pretty River Academy. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and working with a child with diverse needs. The Teaching Aid will collaborate closely with teachers to implement educational activities, assist student, and promote their social and academic development.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in ensuring student participates in classroom materials and activities
- Support student during lessons, ensuring they understand instructions and stay engaged
- Provide one-on-one assistance to student
- Support student with daily routines, including transitions, meal times, and rest periods as needed
- Implement educational activities focused on foundational skills such as math, literacy, and social development
- Communicate effectively with student, teachers, and parents to support student progress
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment at all times
Experience
- Prior classroom experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Experience working with children in early childhood education settings is highly desirable
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, teachers, and parents
- Knowledge of basic math concepts and early childhood developmental milestones is beneficial
- Passion for teaching and supporting the growth of young learners in a nurturing environment
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
