Position Overview
At Ivy. Coffee Shop, we believe that simple food executed exceptionally well creates memorable guest experiences. We are looking for a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our growing kitchen team at our Duncan Street location.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in consistency, and wants to be part of a team building something special from the ground up. The successful candidate will help execute our breakfast and lunch menu while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and teamwork.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Execution
- Prepare and execute breakfast and lunch menu items according to Ivy. standards.
- Maintain consistency in presentation, portioning, and quality.
- Prepare ingredients and complete daily mise en place before service.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and operational procedures.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with menu rollouts, seasonal items, and daily features.
Service & Kitchen Operations
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house team members during service.
- Manage ticket flow and prioritize orders efficiently during busy periods.
- Ensure all food leaves the kitchen quickly and meets quality standards.
- Monitor product levels and communicate inventory needs proactively.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Toronto Public Health and food safety regulations.
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and temperature logs.
- Adhere to all opening, closing, and cleaning procedures.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment at all times.
- Participate in daily and weekly deep cleaning schedules.
Teamwork & Culture
- Contribute to a positive and supportive workplace culture.
- Assist team members whenever needed.
- Receive feedback professionally and apply it to improve performance.
- Take ownership of your station and responsibilities.

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of kitchen experience.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in cafés, brunch restaurants, or fast-casual kitchens.
- Experience with breakfast service and sandwich preparation.
- Experience with inventory management and prep planning.
- Understanding of food costing and waste reduction.
