Parts & Service Counter Assistant

Yellowhead Rec is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Parts & Service Counter Assistant to support our powersports and recreation dealership operations. This role is a mix of parts counter support, service department assistance, inventory organization, customer service, and light yard duties.
The right person is organized, mechanically minded, comfortable helping customers, and willing to jump in where needed. Experience with powersports, recreation equipment, dealership parts, or service departments is a strong asset, but we are also open to someone dependable who is eager to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist walk-in and phone customers with parts and service inquiries
- Look up, order, receive, price, and organize parts
- Support the service department by sourcing parts for work orders and technicians
- Help maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels
- Process parts orders, invoices, returns, and related paperwork
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding availability, pricing, and delivery timelines
- Keep the parts area, counter, storage shelves, and workspaces clean and organized
- Track incoming shipments and help resolve order or delivery discrepancies
- Assist with scheduling support, customer updates, and service department coordination when needed
- Perform light yard duties, including moving units, keeping the yard organized, cleaning units, and assisting with general dealership upkeep
- Help load, unload, and move parts, accessories, and equipment safely
- Follow dealership safety procedures and maintain a professional customer-first attitude
Requirements
- Previous dealership, powersports, recreation, automotive, agriculture, or mechanical experience is a bonus but attitude is everything.
- Parts counter, service advisor, warehouse, inventory, or customer service experience is an asset
- Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in powersports and recreational equipment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using computers, inventory systems, point-of-sale systems, and basic data entry
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers, technicians, vendors, and team members
- Able to multitask in a busy dealership environment
- Comfortable performing light physical duties, including lifting, moving parts, organizing inventory, and assisting in the yard
- Forklift or equipment-moving experience is an asset but not required
- Valid driver’s license is preferred

Pay: $17.08-$21.25 per hour
