About the Opportunity
Evertrust Development Group Inc. operates in real estate development, construction and related business activities in Ontario. Our legal matters often involve project records, property issues, construction disputes, contract defaults, enforcement steps, condominium-related issues and commercial claims.
We are seeking an Ontario-licensed litigation lawyer who can review files, assess legal and evidentiary issues, prepare effective legal materials and give management practical recommendations that support business decision-making.
Position Focus
This role will assist with active civil litigation and dispute-resolution files connected to real estate, construction, development and commercial operations. The work is hands-on and requires strong judgment, clear written work, reliable file organization and the ability to move matters forward in a business setting.
The successful candidate should be comfortable reviewing documents, identifying risk, managing procedural requirements, preparing court-related materials and communicating with internal teams, external counsel and other relevant parties as needed.
The assigned office may be located in Ontario, including Markham or Muskoka, depending on company requirements and operational needs.
Core Responsibilities
- · Assess new and existing dispute files and summarize the key factual, evidentiary, procedural and legal issues.
- · Draft, revise and organize litigation materials, including pleadings, affidavits, motion or application materials, factums, demand letters, settlement documents, legal correspondence and supporting records.
- · Assist with litigation steps such as motions, applications, examinations for discovery, mediations, settlement discussions, hearings and enforcement-related procedures.
- · Provide practical input on litigation strategy, risk exposure, evidence gaps, deadlines, enforcement options and possible resolution paths.
- · Work with management, project teams and internal departments to collect facts, review records, organize documents and maintain progress on active matters.
- · Coordinate with external counsel, consultants, experts, opposing counsel and third parties where the file requires it.
- · Support or manage multiple active files while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, professionalism and strong attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- · LL.B. or J.D. from a recognized law school.
- · Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- · Practical Ontario civil litigation experience.
- · Experience preparing, reviewing or assisting with court materials for contested matters.
- · Working knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure.
- · Strong legal research, drafting, advocacy, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- · Ability to manage deadlines, work independently and provide clear legal advice to business stakeholders.
Experience Considered an Asset
- · Litigation experience involving commercial, construction, real estate, property or contract disputes.
- · Exposure to condominium disputes, development claims, lien matters, mortgage enforcement, power of sale, contract enforcement or similar dispute-related files.
- · Experience supporting a real estate developer, construction company, business client or internal legal function.
Compensation and Employment Terms
- · Salary range: $60,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience.
- · Full-time, permanent employment.

Work Location
This is an in-person position. The assigned work location may be within Ontario, including Markham or Muskoka, based on company needs. Candidates must be able to attend the assigned office location as required.
Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
