About the Role
Shaun Lipsey & Co. is looking for a talented and experienced Intermediate Interior Designer to join our growing team.
We are seeking someone who is creative, highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple aspects of residential design projects. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of both the creative and technical sides of interior design and is comfortable taking a project from concept development through documentation, sourcing, procurement, and installation.
You will work closely with our Principal Designer, design team, trades, vendors, and clients to deliver thoughtfully designed, elevated spaces.
Responsibilities
- Develop design concepts, mood boards, material palettes, and presentations
- Produce detailed floor plans, elevations, millwork drawings, and design documentation
- Prepare and maintain specifications, schedules, and project documentation
- Source furniture, lighting, plumbing, finishes, hardware, fabrics, and accessories
- Coordinate with contractors, millworkers, suppliers, vendors, and other trades
- Review shop drawings and ensure design intent is maintained
- Attend client meetings, site visits, measurements, and installations
- Manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
- Assist with procurement, quoting, ordering, and tracking
- Communicate professionally with clients and project partners
- Identify site or design challenges and proactively work toward solutions
- Support styling and final installations
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design or a related field
- Approximately 3–5+ years of professional interior design experience
- Strong knowledge of construction, millwork, materials, finishes, and detailing
- Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software
- Strong space-planning and technical drawing abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently while collaborating with a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced design environment
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites as required
