Event BBQ Attendant (Seasonal – 2 Weekends Only)

Souto Farms Local Market is looking for a friendly, reliable individual to join our team for two of our biggest event weekends of the season: Cherry Blast and Peach Fest.
This is not a permanent position—we are hiring specifically for two weekends only, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a short-term summer job or some extra income.
Event Dates
- July 18–19: Cook and serve fresh corn on the cob during Cherry Blast.
- August 8–9: Grill peaches for our signature peach dessert during Peach Fest.
The successful candidates will work outdoors under a tent using a BBQ provided by Souto Farms. Hours are expected to be approximately 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays, with availability required for the full day on all four event dates.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook corn on the cob and grilled peaches using a BBQ.
- Monitor cooking times to ensure food is prepared consistently and safely.
- Keep the BBQ station clean, organized, and well stocked throughout the day.
- Provide friendly, welcoming customer service in a fast-paced, family-oriented environment.
- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Follow safe food handling and cleanliness practices.
- Assist with setup and cleanup of the BBQ station before and after each event.
What We're Looking For
- Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors for the duration of the shift.
- Able to stand for extended periods and work in warm weather.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Previous experience with BBQ cooking, food service, farmers' markets, festivals, or customer service is an asset but not required.
- Food Safe certification is considered an asset but is not mandatory.
