Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Store Clerk to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and maintaining an organized store environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in retail sales, merchandising, and technical product knowledge, contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers. Bilingual abilities and experience in technology sales or product demos are a plus for this role.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
- Operate POS systems efficiently for transactions including cash handling and credit card processing
- Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical information to customers
- Upsell products and suggest additional items to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
- Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure shelves are stocked appropriately
- Manage inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and clear communication
- Ensure accurate cash register operation, including balancing at the end of shifts
- Support merchandising efforts by setting up promotional displays and signage
- Uphold store cleanliness and organization throughout the shift
Requirements
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing
- Organizational skills to manage stock, displays, and customer flow efficiently
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Customer service experience with a focus on creating positive shopping experiences
- Ability to operate POS systems accurately and efficiently
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer needs
- Previous retail sales or merchandising experience is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of technology products or ability to conduct product demos is a plus
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed
