Dirt Dump Inc. is looking for a reliable and organized Part-Time Yard Office Administrator / Cashier to help with day-to-day operations at our dirt disposal and aggregate lot in Southeast Calgary, near Glenmore Trail and Barlow Trail.
This is a seasonal role that involves customer service, invoicing, payment processing, answering calls, scheduling deliveries, and helping keep the lot organized.
About Dirt Dump Inc.
Dirt Dump Inc. provides dirt, sod, and soil disposal services for Calgary and surrounding areas. We also sell aggregates, soil, mulch, and offer hauling, pick-ups, and delivery services. Most of our customers are small landscaping and construction companies.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Write up customer invoices and process payments
- Use a portable debit/credit machine
- Answer phone calls and provide information about pricing, services, and deliveries
- Schedule deliveries and help coordinate daily lot activity
- Learn the different hauling vehicle types to charge customers correctly, including dump trailers and dump trucks
- Direct customers where to dump or load materials
- Help maintain, sort, and organize dirt piles on site
- Multitask during busy periods and prioritize tasks as needed
- Assist with general administrative and yard-related duties
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills
- Good organization and time management
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Previous cashier, administrative, or customer service experience
- Experience using a debit/credit machine is an asset
- Clear communication skills in person and over the phone
- Ability to learn vehicle types and pricing categories
- Comfortable working in a yard/outdoor environment
Experience in landscaping, construction, hauling, or aggregate sales is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Occasional Saturdays may be required.
