POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for short-haul, local / regional deliveries of steel to a variety of construction sites all over the lower mainland. You will be safely operating and driving a Daycab semi-truck with various length flatbed trailers to transport the reinforcing steel to various construction sites. Aiding in offload may also be required.
POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Operating and driving a Daybed Semi-truck to transport goods and materials on a flatbed trailer to various construction sites throughout the lower mainland.
- Hauling fabricated reinforcing steel on various lengths of flat-bed trailers including tandem, tridem and super-B trailers.
- Positioning (backing in) loaded trailers into extremely tight construction sites for offloading by site crane
- Multiple deliveries throughout the day to multiple job sites required
- Ensure safety and security of cargo and the public
- Oversee condition of vehicle and full pre-inspections as required.
- Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness
- Complete driver logbook, inspection reports, accident / incident reports as required
- Flexible dayshift hours with overtime hours as needed
- Any additional duties as required
PRIOR WORK & REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract
- Minimum of 2 years Class 1 driving experience in the lower mainland of BC
- Sound knowledge of safe driving practices
- Previous experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment is an asset
- Previous experience in forklift operation is preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
