We are currently searching for a Junior Buyer to join the team for our location in Brampton.
Responsibilities:
- Solicits quotes and places purchase orders with suppliers.
- Manage multiple orders with accuracy
- Tracks deliveries of purchased goods and maintains efficient production scheduling.
- Negotiates pricing and maintains records within the visual system.
- Tracking trends in pricing and supplier performance
- Purchase parts, materials, and equipment according to production schedules
- Maintains/organizes consolidated suppliers lists in respect to components, raw materials and miscellaneous commodities
- Assists in the maintenance of appropriate administrative requirements relative to procurement of all commodities including quotations, price lists, quality assessments, etc.
- Work with Engineering, Productions and Sales Departments
- Follows up with suppliers to ensure that orders meet quality specifications
- Other duties and projects as assigned, including providing backup for Logistics and other purchasing functions during vacation and sick days.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience as a Buyer/Purchaser
- Previous purchasing experience, preferably from manufacturing, automotive or fleet sector
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel and Dynamic Purchasing System
- Knowledge of vehicle parts and upfitting is a strong asset
- Data entry skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
