Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Trucking Dispatcher to coordinate and manage aggragate transportation operations. The ideal candidate will oversee daily dispatch activities, communicate effectively with drivers and customers, and utilize various transportation management systems to ensure timely deliveries. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in data entry, and the ability to analyze logistics data to optimize routes and schedules. The Trucking Dispatcher plays a critical role in maintaining efficient supply chain operations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Coordinate daily dispatch of trucks, ensuring timely pickup and delivery of materials .
- Utilize transportation management systems to keep track of deliveries and drivers hours.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and various personnel via phone and phone etiquette to provide updates and resolve issues.
- Manage shipping & receiving documentation accurately through data entry and analysis skills.
- Monitor freight movements, troubleshoot delays, and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with providers and supply chain partners to optimize logistics operations.
- Maintain organized records of shipments, driver logs, and related documentation for compliance purposes.
- Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements within the supply chain.
Skills
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, freight management, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Experience working with customers and managing freight logistics.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficient in typing and using iPad/iPhone technology.
- Analytical skills to interpret logistics data for route optimization and problem-solving.
- Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with drivers, customers, and team members.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Attention to detail, and strong work ethic
- Asset previous driving history, and or Class 1 drivers licence
